A Chicken God …

… is a stone from the ocean with a small hole in it. The Tartars of the Crimea believed that such a stone, suspended with a thread from the chicken perch, would improve the chickens egg production and would protect their eggs from getting damaged by thunder or lightning.

I personally believe that chicken gods are simply a good luck charm!
